circa 1910 (9935 / 6) and circa 1934 (17193), gun nos. 9935 / 6 with 28in. sleeved nitro barrels, retaining original ribs gold-inlaid '1' and '2' at the breech ends, rib inscriptions worn, 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. imp. cyl. and 1/4 choke (No.1 gun with removable Teague choke inserts); gun No.3 with extra 28in. nitro choke barrels (Birmingham proof for 1962), the rib engraved 'WILLIAM EVANS. 67A. ST. JAMES'S STREET. LONDON.', and gold-inlaid '3*' at the breech end, 2 3/4in. chambers, bored approx. full choke in both, treble-grip actions with removable striker discs, toplevers gold-inlaid '1' and '2', automatic safeties with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' details, bold engraving of art nouveau stylised scrolling acanthus and floral designs, retaining very slight traces of original colour-hardening, 15in. well-figured stocks (slight sweep at combs) including 1 1/4in. wooden extensions, weight 6lb. 12oz. (No.1) and 6lb. 10oz. (No.2), gun no. 17193 with 28in. replacement nitro barrels (in 1962), the rib engraved 'WILLIAM EVANS. 67A. ST. JAMES'S STREET. LONDON.', and gold-inlaid '3*' at the breech end, 2 3/4in. chambers, bored approx. full choke in both, treble-grip action with removable striker discs, the toplever gold-inlaid '3', automatic safety with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, bold scrolling acanthus engraving with beaded bordering, 15in. figured stock swept at comb and including 1 1/4in. wooden extension, weight 6lb. 12oz., all in a brass-mounted oak and leather triple guncase with gold-tooled William Evans trade label, lift-out barrel tray (missing right hand side edge)
